Comicon came to Bangalore this weekend! I went earlier today and even took part in the cosplay contest. Yup, doesn't get geekier than that. I went as Alan Moore's character V from "V for Vendetta".
For those of you unfamilliar with him, heres a quick discription, for more head over to the wikipedia link below:
"V for Vendetta is a ten-issue comic book series written by Alan Moore and illustrated mostly by David Lloyd, set in a dystopian future United Kingdom. A mysterious masked revolutionary who calls himself "V" works to destroy the totalitarian government, profoundly affecting the people he encounters.
In this future, a fascist party called Norsefire has exterminated its opponents in concentration camps and now rules the country as a police state. V, an anarchist revolutionary dressed in a Guy Fawkes mask, begins an elaborate, violent, and intentionally theatrical campaign to murder his former captors, bring down the government, and convince the people to rule themselves."– Full Wikipedia article is here
Warner Bros. released a film adaptation of V for Vendetta in 2006. Heres the trailer.
So i decided to slap together the rest of the costume last night. made the hat+wig and daggers out of cardboard and paper, already had a black suit.. used an old black kurta as a cape. The hat turned out to be really disproportionate..lot like a mariachi, 😆 but used it anyway.
It was a hit with the public! Loads of people wanted to pose with V.. pics of those should be popping up all over the interwebs soon.
and obviously my favorite pic..
Wonder Woman who incidently won 3rd prize(sorry for the shake.. the photographers were being jostled by the massive crowd).
first prize went to The Mask(guy left before the announcement) and second was a tie between a manga character and a cool COD:Modern Warfare character.
there was a lucky dip prize that also went to someone who didn't bother to stick around for the results. :irked: bit pissed about that. If you don't have the patience to wait, you shouldn't deserve the prize.
anyway all competitors got this one book out of it.. so cool.
